Why prices change after you book
Hotel prices are not static. OTAs adjust rates based on occupancy and demand, and a room that was $200 when you booked might drop to $160 a few weeks later. If your booking is refundable, you can cancel the old one and rebook at the lower price.
Most people don't go back and check. You've already paid, you've moved on to planning the trip. That's the gap Rate Ranger fills. We keep watching so you don't have to.

We re-check the rate for the same hotel and dates regularly — more often as your check-in approaches — and compare what's available now against what you paid.

When we find a rate lower than yours, you get an email with the exact savings and a link to rebook.
What we check for
Every price check includes
- The live going rate for your hotel and dates
- Whether the lower-priced option includes free cancellation
- Savings amount and percentage compared to your original price
- We only alert you when savings pass a minimum threshold ($15 for refundable, $50 or 15% for non-refundable)
How rebooking works
When you get a price drop alert: cancel your original booking (assuming it's refundable) and rebook at the lower price through the link in the alert email. Takes a few minutes. We include a "I've rebooked" button in the alert so we know to stop monitoring that booking. If you want, submit your new booking details on our website and we'll track the new booking too.
