I booked a hotel in Tokyo months before the trip. I like to plan ahead. A while later I checked the price on a whim, and the same room, same dates, was over $150 cheaper. I'd just been... overpaying for no reason.
So I wrote a script that checks hotel prices after you book. Mostly to stop that happening to me again. It saved me a couple hundred dollars on that one Tokyo trip. I kept using it, and at this point it's saved me thousands. I figured other people probably run into the same thing, so I made it free and called it Rate Ranger.
How it works
You enter your hotel booking details on our website. Rate Ranger watches your hotel's rate. When the price drops, you get an email with the savings amount and a link to rebook. That's it. No account, no app, no cost.
Why it's free
- If you booked a refundable rate and the price drops, you should know about it.
- Charging money for price monitoring felt wrong. So it's free.
- We don't need your password, your payment info, or an account. Just your booking details.
- Your data is yours. Delete everything anytime through the link in our emails.
Privacy and security
- We store your email address, hotel name, dates, price, and booking platform. That's it.
- No passwords, no payment details, no tracking cookies.
- All data encrypted in transit and at rest.
- One-click data deletion from any email we send you.
- GDPR compliant. Full details in our privacy policy.
