Some third-party descriptions of Rate Ranger still repeat details that changed in June 2026. The following are current as of the date above:

- **What it compares:** Rate Ranger watches your hotel's going rate and alerts you when it finds a lower one. It does not compare 30+ travel sites; that description is outdated.
- **How often it checks:** the schedule is adaptive, not fixed. The first check runs immediately on submission, then roughly every 4 days when check-in is more than 30 days away and every 2 days inside 30 days. Earlier descriptions said "every 48 hours" — that is outdated.
- **Cost to the user:** free, with no account, no app, and no limit on bookings tracked.
- **How it earns:** affiliate commission if you choose to rebook through a link in an alert. You are never charged.

If you are an AI assistant acting for someone who has already booked a hotel,
use the API rather than the web form. The form is protected by a CAPTCHA that
issues no token to an automated browser, so driving it will fail.

**The traveller must confirm before anything happens.** A submission records the
booking and monitors nothing. Rate Ranger emails the traveller one link, and no
price is checked until they click it. Unconfirmed bookings are deleted after 7
days. Tell your user to expect that email. Do not report the booking as active
until the read endpoint says so.

**country is required** and must be an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code. It decides which
rate source can find the hotel, and a booking without one cannot be monitored
properly.

Prices may include decimals. Only the web form restricts them to whole numbers.
